Frequently Asked Questions

Exams

  2. A:Top left Daily > Exam Please refer here for the knowledge base document. Edval Daily: Examination Module

  1. Q: Do you have the option of not staffing exams. As we use outside supervisors for exams.

A: if you do not want to assign the teachers you can leave them unassigned

Q: Study assigns them to a group - I need them in regular classes
A: More can be found about Study exams here Study exams

Q: If generating an exam over a number of days, can it be set up to keep students & teachers in classes where they are not on an exam?
A: Deleting the cancellation event in the event tab. If you need certain classes to run, then Editing the cancellation event.

Q: Can it default a Disability Provisions room? It is very time consuming to do this per subject - easier to delete.
A: This isn’t currently possible and has been logged as a feature request.

Q: Can you get NESA numbers on the exam slips
A: You would need add the NESA ID's in the etz timetable file under "StatewideID" column in student data and then sync across to Edval web server (Edval Daily).

Q: I experience an issue when attempting to cancel classes via events. There are some occasions where as an example I need to cancel all classes, except for vocational major - despite selecting all classes BUT                 vocational major - the classes still get cancelled. Why is that?
A: When an exam block is created, all classes for the selected year level(s) will be cancelled for the entire duration of the exam block, even if no exams are scheduled on particular days or in particular sessions. If it is       intended that some classes will still run during the exam block, the cancellation event that is automatically created will need to be edited via the Events tab. Refer here for further clarification. Edval Daily: Event Types.

Q: If you create an exam, does it appear on events, or do you enter it in on both?
A: It automatically appears in events screen as event type "Exam"

A: This isn’t currently possible and has been logged as a feature request.

Q: What is the difference between "had cancel" and Meadowbanks?
A: Had cancel would be everything including those that had cancellation in daily due to an event or exam etcHad cancel today

Q: Can you use Meadowbanks for exam periods in other parts of the year?

General

Q: Are there different paid versions of Edval Daily?  Or are all these features available to those schools that use Daily?        A: It is a singe paid version and available to all schools.

Q: How can I get more information on Integration to SEQTA please.
A: Please refer to the knowledge base article here. SEQTA knowledge base articles

Q: Is anyone else finding that "class to library" doesn't sync to external - eg on compass we still need to manually room change everything to the library.
A: Yes, it does not as it is only a label and not an actual cover. Students are 'sent' to the library as a 'message' which appears in Student bulletin. There is no option to link 'Library' with any actual room code - this       option is just a message.  Note that this information is NOT sent to third party systems. See here: Class to library

Q: At the moment, I cannot add a particular student to an event. Only by class/year.
A: Can you please tick the 'registered event?' tick box on right of the student's section? Refer to Edval Daily: Selecting Students for Events

Q: Can you reset the paid cover (once reimbursed) or acknowledge it has been reimbursed?
A: Yes, you can reset the paid cover tick option. Refer to Edval Daily: Paid Cover

Q: Wondering why the teacher swap appears in the absences and not the events tab?
A: This is something we're discussing internally as we've heard a lot of requests about it, we'll have an update about this later.
